Kose John is the Charles William Gerstenberg Professor of Banking and Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business. His recent research focuses on corporate governance, corporate bankruptcy, executive compensation, and corporate disclosure. He has also conducted research in the areas of financial markets and financial theory and is an expert in valuation and efficiency in financial markets and asset pricing.
Kose has published over a hundred articles in several top journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies and Financial Management. His research has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Jensen Prize for the Best Paper published in the Journal of Financial Economics, the FMA Annual Meeting Best Paper Award (Fixed Income Research), the Best Paper Award in Corporate Finance at the National meeting of Financial Management Association, and Sanwa Monograph Award on International Economics and Financial Markets. He is also a proud recipient of Batterymarch Fellowship.
Kose has a B.S. in Physics from the University of Kerala (India), a M.S. in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of Florida (Gainesville).
